Environment

The Club is a sanctuary for flora and fauna, particularly for the rare and precious Hermann’s Tortoise — proudly featured in its logo. By establishing its own Corporate Environmental Foundation, the Club is proud of its decade-long partnership with the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, which has made possible:

  • An independent and unprecedented biodiversity survey of this extraordinary property
  • The discovery of species previously unrecorded in the region, and even species previously unknown to science;
  • The joint development of best-practice models for course maintenance that align with environmental preservation — practices that have since been shared nationally (as part of the national biodiversity certification program) and internationally (with the GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf).

Since its creation, the Foundation’s goal has been — and remains — to guide the relationship between golf activities and the unique natural environment of the “Plaine des Maures,” a biodiversity hotspot home to species such as the Hermann’s Tortoise, the European Pond Turtle, and the Ocellated Lizard.
